Music Shops in Glasgow

Glasgow has some great music stores catering for all types of musicians! Here at Piano Lessons Glasgow we are often asked by our students where they should check out locally, so to help them along we have drawn together a list of what we consider to be the best music store Glasgow has to offer! In no order...

McLarens Pianos located at 266 Clyde Street, G1 4JH, is Glasgow's top piano store stocking some of the best pianos you can get your hands on! The shore ran by Jamie McLaren has grown to become well known by local musicians as a quality piano store providing tuning, repair and removal services. Established for over 10 years McLarens Pianos should be the first port of call for all pianists in Glasgow!

Haydock Music was established in 2002 by Alistair Haydock and boast a fantastic range of all things piano! From digital pianos to keyboard cases Haydock music has it all and with their extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Located at 5a Stewart St, Milngavie, G62 6BW the music store also has an extensive range of music books and piano accessories stocking almost everything you will need day to day as a pianist! Check them out!

CC Music located at 33 Otago Street, Kelvinbridge, G12 8JJ is a more general music store packed full of guitars, bass guitars and drums! They also stock a great range of music books for more contempoary pianists as well as a few really nice digital pianos. Formally part of the Academy of Sound group, then SoundControl in 2008 the shop once again became independant and we are pleased that they have stuck around as they are another great music stop in Glasgow!

Guitar Guitar Glasgow is a fantastic guitar store that can be found at 36 Trongate, G1 5ES. Packed with literally hundreds of guitars and loads of guitar equipment the shop caters for both ends of the market with excellent beginner guitars - Fender Squire Stratocasters and Yamaha Pacifica - to the top of the range Gibson and Fender guitars. Their part exchange and used guitar trades means you can get your hands on some amazing second hand guitars that would perhaps be out of your price range new! One of the top guitar shops in Glasgow and a must for all guitarists! Yet it is their store next door that we are excited about - Guitar Guitar Digital located at 22 Trongate, G1 5ES stocks a huge range of pianos and keyboards perfect for all pianists! Stocking everything you will ever need to play live or record this shop is ideal for the more experianced pianist!

Strung Out Guitars have served some of the great musicians over recent years including Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Idlewild, The Proclaimers, The Vaselines, The Fratellis, Foals, Arcade Fire, Paulo Nuitini, The Sugababes (yes the Sugababes!) and even Gordon Brown and Prince Charles! With a customer list like this the shop really speaks for itself, yet if you are not convinced that Gordon Brown has the best choice in music store you only have to look at the fantastic range of stock & friendly advice that co-oweners Louise Carruthers and Paula Russell give to know Gordon Brown's music stop choices are better than his ability to smile! Famed for their ablility to repair guitar equipment the store might not suit many pianist but is well worth checking out in terms of the local musicians community!
